Timothy DeVries has been building and working with computers for more than 12 years. He is a Digital Native in the age of information.
Well versed in an understanding of Computers and Software he has worked on many projects, including assembling Computers from components, Writing HTML for Websites, IT Support, General Computer Maintenance (Software and Hardware), to Level Design for Video Games as a Hobby and interest.
With the Internet at his fingertips he has self taught himself numerous software packages and tools along with a variety of technical skills in the area of computers. Constantly reading and keeping an eye on the Internet, he keeps up with the current thoughts of the day about Computers etc.
We are proud to announce that after a brief sabbatical, Dr. James DeVries will be joining the DeVries Consultancy team! Jim will be retiring from Heifer International in March 2011.
He has worked at Heifer for over 28 years. Jim has been their Senior Vice President of Programs since 2003. He has provided leadership for staff around the world, developing and managing more than 770 projects through 53 country and regional offices.
His years of experience, his management skills, and his wisdom will be an awesome addition.
Jim has worked at Heifer for over 28 years. He has been their Senior Vice President of Programs since 2003. He has provided leadership for staff around the world, developing and managing more than 770 projects through 53 country and regional offices. Jim started as the Director of Africa/Near East Programs in 1982. He was later named Director of Programs in 1992.
Prior to Heifer, Dr. DeVries was a professor and head of the Agricultural Extension and Education Department at Sokoine University in Morogoro, Tanzania. Dr. De Vries was born in The Netherlands and was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 1961. He is fluent in English, Dutch and Swahili, as well as reading and understanding German. He has a Ph.D. in continuing and vocational education from the University of Wisconsin, an M.S. in cooperative extension (education) and a B.A. in history and religion from Bloomfield College in New Jersey.
